FESTIVAL HALL: Mozarteum Orchestra, Soudant, Steiner:
The world of subtle sound.
The principal clarinet of the Mozarteum Orchestra, Ferdinand Steiner,
played the clarinet concerto K. 622 in the original sound of the bass
clarinet. Lithe, sensitive and brilliant. The soloist also provided a surprise
with his choice of cadenza - a mixture of jazz and Benny Goodman along
with striking figures from his orchestra colleague, the percussionist
Andreas Aigmüller.
