Mozart Minus Flavor Enhancers
One has heard everything by Mozart in this soon-to-be-completed Mozart-
Year. So one might think.
Fourteen string- and wind players from the Mozarteum Orchestra, the
Camerata Orchestra and the RSO Vienna, performing as the Salzburg
Soloists, have proved otherwise in performing late Mozart works in the
original chamber instrumentation.

In place of the commonplace, the statement here reads: enjoyment minus
flavor enhancers.
Ferdinand Steiner, performing the clarinet concerto in A major with airy
lightness and clarity, enlivens the original cadenza by Andreas Aigmüller
with Benny Goodman-like swing.
The ensemble ascends the mighty "Jupiter" peak with vitality, individual
brlliance and collective homogeneity. And the Andante simply glows from
within.
Mozart light? Of course!
